Emergency Letter Of Agreement (LOA) easing PTO cancellation restrictions during the COVID crisis
In light of the COVID crisis the Guild and Kaiser Permanente, Northern California region, agree to a one-time waiver on PTO cancellation restrictions during the schedules from date of signing through 5/23/2020. No PTO scheduled for after 5/23/2020 may be cancelled. Thereafter the CBA process is restored unless this Letter of Agreement is renewed by mutual agreement.
Cancellations may be made only through 4/6/2020, the contract special requests date for the schedule ending 5/23/2020.
Any cancellation is to be made at the request of the pharmacist with management approval which shall not be unjustly denied. The PTO waiver does not grant any right to the employer to cancel or defer PTO without the written consent of the pharmacist. This LOA does not waive call in from PTO as specified in paragraph 845 of the CBA. Should a pharmacist choose to cancel PTO it shall be offered in bidding order to alternates wishing to take the time.
