NCAL Guild pharmacists,
In recent years, the Guild has been informed that some Kaiser local managers and supervisors have denied Guild members travel time pay and mileage reimbursement when they were assigned to work in different pharmacies/work locations or to attend work-related meetings outside of their home pharmacy as part of their weekly base hours. This included but was not limited to assignments in multiple pharmacies in a single day, requiring Guild members to travel mid-day between pharmacies.
According to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and Kaiser policy, you are entitled to travel time pay and mileage reimbursement for any excess commute which may have occurred beyond your daily normal commute from your home to your home pharmacy for your weekly base hours. The Guild has filed multiple grievances in recent years as a result of the Employer violating Paragraphs 617-621.
The Guild is requesting you to compile all of your excess commute travel time and mileage information immediately. Please contact the Guild via email (see Guild office email address below) no later than August 23rd, 2021, to inform the Guild that you have excess commute travel time pay and mileage reimbursement claims. The Guild will review your information and communicate with the Employer about your excess commute travel time and mileage reimbursement claims once the Guild receives such information from you. However, you must provide the Guild with a timely response by the August 23rd, 2021 deadline with your information if you want the Guild’s assistance.
